The first of the year sets the tone.
How will the remaining 364 be? I am not sure I believe that is true, but there is a Superstitious Sprite bumping into the furniture in the back of my head telling me that these things make a difference.
First walkies: Short, efficient

First money spent… [pause]
Here’s a superstitional bugaboo. Does the first money spent have an impact on the flow of money throughout the year? As it happens I have yet to choose. The landlord needs to be paid – but the Sprite does not want me to make it the first payout of the year. I can spend it on food, an app I have been using, something frivolous, useful, charitable, good, venal, sinful, or the rent. Full circle. I have decided, but I will not tell you to avoid any bad juju.
Nah nah-nah nahhh nahhh.

First new book of the year: A Spell of Good Things, Ayọ̀bámi Adébáyọ̀
The early bird gets the worm, but the second mouse gets the cheese. Why did this come up? Note to self: clear cache.

First Action Planned: Moving to a new apartment
First List: 2025 firsts.
The last one is a bit of a sidestep, but I think I have covered most of this year’s firsts by now. Only 15 of them but hopefully they will guide me well.
And the first blog of the year? Posted from my new home in the Philippines? It has been short and to the point.
The rambling will come later in the year.
